Live event logging & season archive Podcast manuscript, snapshot status, and post-major archive

Major archive / season history

Save the final locked teams/results for a completed major so the Season table can carry those points into the next major.

Only press Archive completed major after final results are confirmed. Re-pressing it for the same major updates/replaces that major’s saved archive.

Podcast manuscript / live event log

Capture a live snapshot during play, or download a NotebookLM-ready text manuscript for the selected league/date.

One small launcher. The Release Command Centre below is the main workflow.

Mobile-first admin flow

Release command centre

Use this top-to-bottom. The buttons below jump to the existing working tools on this page, so the admin flow is simpler without changing the backend that already works.

Safety first

Check existing leagues/teams before major changes. Restore tools are lower down if a delete or repair needs rolling back.

1

Tournament setup

Run this after field, odds or tournament details change. Existing player image fields are protected by the one-button image guard.

2

Readiness checks

After setup finishes, refresh the checklist and then check every saved team against the current field/prices.

3

Images and branding

Use the cleanup/audit tools only if the image audit flags a problem, or if a player needs a manual replacement.

5

Emergency tools

Only use repair/delete tools when you know exactly what needs changing. Repairs and deletes create backups first.

Normal release flow: run setup, refresh checklist, run Team Health, audit images only if needed, then test emails before users start picking teams.
Simple setup guide

What to do before the next tournament

Use this as the monthly checklist when you come back and cannot remember the order. The green setup button does the heavy rebuild; the other buttons are checks and safety tools.

1
Check tournament details
Confirm tournament name, first tee time, lock offset, results URL and logo. Estimated tee time is OK early, but confirm it when official tee times are published.
2
Press SET UP / REFRESH CURRENT MAJOR
This refreshes the field, odds, prices, images, stats, recent form, course history, active tournament metadata, audit and results cache.
3
Refresh the readiness checklist
Fix anything red. Yellow warnings are usually things to confirm before launch, such as official tee time or low course-history coverage.
4
Check team health before lock
Send warning emails first if teams are invalid. Emergency repair is only for close to lock when users have not fixed invalid teams themselves.
Normal flow: run setup about two weeks before the major, re-run after field/odds changes, send invalid-team warnings the Wednesday night before tee-off if needed, and only use emergency repair close to lock.
Show exactly what the setup button runs

  6. Update DataGolf recent professional form.
  7. Recalculate 2026 starts, cuts and last-four form.

  10. Run final automation audit.
  11. Refresh results cache if available.
  12. Check/generate the current major hero tile and logo.
League/team snapshot
Tap once to list every league, each entered team, who owns it, and their four selected players.
No snapshot loaded yet.

Team Health

Check every saved team after field or odds updates.

Safe check
Press this after the one-button setup, field refresh, or odds/pricing refresh. It tells you who needs to edit their team before lock.
No team health check loaded yet.

Site branding

Upload, preview and assign the logo used in the top-left nav. PNG uploads now stay PNG so transparent logos keep their transparency.

Current site logo
Current logoLoading…
Use wide mode for long logos that already include “The Golf Draft” text.
Use theme-adaptive or metallic styles for plain black transparent text logos.
Recommended for wide transparent logos so empty padding does not make the header too tall.
1.18×
Scales the logo inside a fixed clipped header area, so it can look bigger without making the top bar taller.
Useful on mobile. Leave blank to use the original filename.
Setup live output
Ready
Press SET UP / REFRESH CURRENT MAJOR to run the one-button setup. The live output will appear here.
Simple launch flow

What the setup button does

Use this after the field, odds or tournament details need refreshing. It is the normal full setup/update path.

One-button setup

It refreshes

  1. Confirmed DataGolf field
  2. Live Oddschecker winner odds
  3. Draft point groups and player order
  4. Player images/headshots/flags where available
  5. PGA stats, DataGolf recent form and 2026 starts/cuts
  6. Major course history and active tournament context
  7. Results cache and current major hero tile

After it finishes

  1. Check the readiness list for red/yellow items
  2. Run Team Health after odds/pricing changes
  3. Preview Emergency Repair before applying it
  4. Send yourself a test warning email first
  5. Confirm the lock time is UK time and correct
  6. Snapshot leagues once the final setup is ready
The older paste-odds/manual tools are advanced fallbacks. The normal setup button uses Oddschecker directly.

Player image cleanup

Scan converted transparent PNGs and remaining problem images, then scale the selected PNGs without re-running background removal.

Default fit guide: front 89%, back/headshot 84%, preview 80%. Blank preview_headshot_image is fine; the site falls back to the normal headshot. Luke Donald front was left original/100% because front was unchecked.
\n
Higher = bigger. Try 84–86% if the top gap on main card fronts is too large.
Ready.

All-player image reassignment

Search any player, preview their current front/headshot/flag, assign from proper player-image folders, or upload from your phone / paste an image URL.

Mobile browsers do not reliably support real image thumbnails inside a native dropdown, so this uses a dropdown with a live thumbnail preview below it.
Choose a recommended image to preview it here.
Choose an uploaded or current image to preview it here.
Load players to start.

Manual player image upload location

If the mobile uploader does not work, upload card/front player images here by SCP or laptop:

/srv/websites/The Golf Draft/Players/

Then use a web path like Players/player-file-name.png when assigning it to a player.
